Repurposed Coke Bottle Planters
Repurposing plastic containers is a great way to get crafty with the kids AND save BIG money! My husband works for Coca Cola, so we have tons of bottles at our house all the time. We love to come up with new ways to reuse old coke bottles and cans. These are both very simple projects that require little work or creativity.  With this planter; all we did is cut the bottom of a 2 liter bottle of Mr. Pibb out and filled it with potting soil. Then we planted our mint and decorated with wiggly eyes, paint and a hot glue gun 🙂 Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
This planter was so much fun to make! When I saw the Gold Peak tea bottle in the cooler at the store; I knew I needed it for this project! I love Gold Peak tea, so I drank it up and got started. I cut the top off of the bottle just above the top indention. I used my iron (set on low setting) to make a smooth edge around the top of the bottle.  Next, I used my hot glue gun to glue the top of the bottle to the DVD.  After the glue cooled; I spray-painted the entire thing with gold metallic spray paint.  My daughter pointed out to me that it was the color of the Saints LOL  So, I found some fleur de lis stickers I had stuck away in my craft box and turned this into our “Saints” planter.  You can decorate these in any way you want; THAT’S the fun of it 😀
