Cotton Candy Sweetheart Sparkle

Can you believe these adorable drinks have only 2 ingredients?  They do!

Cotton Candy Sweetheart Sparkle

Y’all, this Cotton Candy Sweetheart Sparkle is the easiest and most fun drink I have ever made for my kiddos.  The Cotton Candy Sweetheart Sparkle quickly became a favorite and regular addition to our weekly menu.  Yes, I said weekly LOL  My kids love it so much and it is so super easy to make; how can I resist?  Friday nights are pizza night and now they are “Pizza sparkle” night 😀  You can adapt this recipe to any event, holiday or celebration you are having.  You can find any color of the rainbow cotton candy and you can also find every color of soda.  For this recipe, we used pink cotton candy and lemon lime soda.  My kids never get tired of watching the color of the soda change as the cotton candy melts!  With St. Patrick’s Day around the corner, we’re going to try blue cotton candy with yellow soda.  That should be fun!  I hope you enjoy this super fun recipe as much as we did 😀

Creamy, Slow Cooker, Hot Chocolate

Creamy, Slow Cooker, Hot Chocolate

Creamy slow cooker hot chocolate

You are going to love this creamy slow cooker hot chocolate recipe.  We love, love, love hot chocolate around our house.  Sometimes we wimp out and buy the powdered hot chocolate at the store, but usually we make it from scratch.  It is so, easy peasy to make it from scratch too!  our recipe changes depending on what ingredients we have on-hand, but this is the recipe we use most often.  This recipe calls for cocoa powder, but you can also use bakers chocolates or you can even use chocolate chips in place of the chocolate and sugar.  Change it up, experiment, and tell us what you think.  You can add a little bit of peppermint oil to this recipe and make it peppermint-y!  You can even add a little cinnamon and cayenne to spice it up a bit!  I have even been known to use sweetened condensed milk in place of the milk and sugar.  I’m telling you, it is so easy to make your own hot chocolate.  Once you get the hang of it, you’ll never buy the powder again.  This slow cooker recipe is just an adapted version of my stove-top hot chocolate. The beauty of making it in the slow cooker is that you can leave it all day and have hot chocolate for the kiddos all day long. They’ll love you for it!

Gather your ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cans evaporated milk
  • 2 cans (use the evaporated milk cans) water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Get to slooooowwww cookin’:

Add all of the ingredients into a 3 quart or larger slow cooker and cook on slow for 2 hours.  Then you can turn it down to “warm” and have hot chocolate all day long 🙂  I usually double this recipe if the kiddos are having friends over.

Slow Cooker Hot Apple Cider

Slow Cooker Hot Apple Cider

Slow Cooker Hot Apple Cider

I’m going to be honest with y’all, this slow cooker hot apple cider is my regular hot apple cider recipe that I adapted to my slow cooker.  I love cooking holiday beverages in the slow cooker because I can leave them on warm all day while people are coming in and out and they will have a warm drink all day long.  This hot apple cider will make your house smell amazing and get everyone in the holiday mood!  We always make this when we’re decorating Christmas cookies.

Get to cooking:

  • Cut the apples and orange into quarters and add to the crock pot.
  • Add cinnamon sticks, vanilla bean, and cloves. Add enough water to cover the fruit.
  • Cook on high heat 3-4 hours.

  • Once all of the particles are strained out of the liquid, add the liquid back to the crock pot to keep warm and discard the solids.
  • Add 2 cups of water and sugar.  I used 1/2 cup of sugar, but you can adjust to your, personal, taste.
  • Keep in crock pot on “warm” all day 🙂  You can refrigerate for about a week or freeze for several months.

Candy Corn Punch

Candy Corn Punch

candy corn punch

This punch was a HUGE hit with the kiddos! I made a batch for my kids and their friends and they were in love! It tastes a lot like a dreamcicle when it’s all mixed up. Have fun with it and make it yours!

Gather your ingredients:
1 packagelemon-flavor gelatin
1 cup boiling water
2 cups mango nectar (this can be found on the juice aisle)
3 1/2 cups orange soda, chilled
1 cup whipping cream
2 tablespoons corn syrup
Candy corn or sprinkles (for decoration)

Get to mixin’:

  • Combine the gelatin in a large bowl until dissolved. Stir in the mango nectar and Pour mixture into a tall, clear 2-quart pitcher.
  • Cover and chill about 3 hours or until thickened but not set. Pour orange soda over the gelatin mixture carefully. I poured the soda down the back of a wooden spoon into the pitcher to keep the soda on top of the gelatin mixture and it worked perfectly!
  • Beat the whipping cream and corn syrup with an electric mixer or large whisk just until stiff peaks form. Spoon this over the mixture in pitcher. If desired, add candy.
  • Stir before serving to mix.
