Homemade Baking Mix
We love this recipe! Â I used many different versions of this recipe before deciding that this version is the best! Â You will pay a fraction of the price as other biscuit mixes and this one tastes much better. Â You also have the peace of mind of knowing every ingredient in the food you are serving to your family. Â You can find my FAVORITE biscuit recipe EVER over HERE.
Gather your ingredients:
- 6 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons corn starch
- 1 1/2 sticks of butter or 1 1/2 cup shortening
Get to mixing:
Mix all dry ingredients together in a food processor.  Add the butter 1 tablespoon at a time until all is added.  Process mixture until it resembles  a course mixture.  Store in the refrigerator an air tight container up to one month or in the freezer up to 2 months. Use as an exact substitute for Bisquick in recipes.
Mix together 2 1/4 cups flour mixture and 3/4 cup milk. Roll out onto a floured surface with a rolling pin and cut into round or square biscuits. Â Bake at 400 degrees F for 8-10 minutes until golden brown on top.
For drop biscuits, mix together 2 1/4 cups flour mixture and 1 cup milk. Bake at 400 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.
