I am so excited to announce that Acadiana’s Thrifty Mom will be enjoying the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra in two weeks to enjoy Home For the Holidays!  I have not been to a symphony since I was a teenager.  I have fond memories of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra on the banks of the Mississippi River during the holiday season.  I cannot wait to share this amazing experience with my husband and all 3 of our children.  This is a tradition that will certainly bring joy for many years to come.  I had no idea that BRSO had so much going on.  Just a brief glance around their website unveiled so many great performances happening around the holidays and the entire year!  Be sure to go take a look and share this magical experience with your family.

I LOVE the symphony at the holidays! My favorite of all concerts is New Years Eve by the Phoenix Symphony. I met one of my best friends there last year, and now we sing together every weekend! I know you’ll enjoy every moment of this concert and it will bring you into the holiday spirit just in time to enjoy Christmas and New Years!
I need to take my boys to an orchestra. I played the violin as a kid.
Orchestra is not usually my type of music but I do find that it soothes and relaxes me. How does it make you feel?
I love the symphony. And getting dressed to go to the symphony. And having a nice meal before or after the symphony. It always seems like a real ‘grownup’ date – the kind of date I dreamed of as a preteen – a long black dress, arm in arm with my cute husband.
There is nothing better than listening to a symphony during the holidays!
i love holiday shows. the LA philharmonic is going to play the music live as they show the movie White Christmas and I am really hoping to get to go. Have fun!
