Okay, to use hand sanitizer or not use hand sanitizer….THAT is the question LOL Well, my family LOVES using hand sanitizer, but we hate the way it leaves our hands so dry! We found a great recipe for DIY alcohol-free hand sanitizer and tweeked it a bit to fit our needs 🙂 This on smells great and does not dry out your skin.

Gather your ingredients:

    • Aloe Vera Gel
    • Tea tree essential oil
    • Cinnamon essential oil
    • Lemon essential Oil
    • Clove essential oil
    • eucalyptus essential oil

Mix your ingredients:

2 cups aloe vera gel
1/4 tsp each: tea tree, cinnamon, lemon, clove, & eucalyptus oil.

After mixing your ingredients, use a funnel to pour the mixture into
recycled hand sanitizer bottles or bottles you purchased 🙂

  1. I’m a little confused, doesn’t getting rid of the alcohol remove the sanitizing effects of the sanitizer? O.o

    1. What’s nice about some essential oils is that they are not only anti-bacterial, but also anti-viral, anti-fungal, etc. We use doTERRA essential oils because of their purity and potency (CPTG: Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade). They are actually safe to ingest! They are also very safe for my children =). Thank you for posting this! I’ve been toying with the idea of making my own hand sanitizer gel with pure aloe vera gel, instead of just an on-the-go spray (filtered water and 10 drop EOs for every 1oz water in a glass spray bottle). I just wasn’t sure if I really needed to add anything else to it. Have you tried making a similar verson in a foaming hand soap pump (to put in classrooms, nurseries, etc)?
