If you live in Acadiana and are you looking for something fun to keep the kids busy and happy this summer, you have come to the right spot! Acadiana’s Thrifty Mom has rounded up the biggest list of camps in Acadiana around! Be sure to check back often; I will be adding more as I find them 🙂

  • Acadiana Baptist Church – IMPACT Summer Camps offer an exciting and free opportunity for your child this summer, June 13-16. All camps will be free and will be held at the LJ Alleman Middle School, where sign-ins will be held in the school gym.
  • Acadiana Karate – Super Ninja Warrior Camps  include an all day action packed martial arts camp including field trips, drills, games, weapons and fun filled activities.
  • Acadiana School of the Arts:  ROCK CAMP! ~ Rock Camp 2016 will be June 26 – 30.  This is the camp that started it all – reserve your slot before it fills up!
  • Acadiana Symphony Orchestra ~ ASO&C and LSM partner to conduct an out-of-this-world summer adventure! TechBytes and SoundWaves is a unique collaboration that will have student’s exploring core elements of Science, Technology, and Music with unforgettable tours at the Lafayette Science Museum. Summer campers will also have an advantage to be some of the first to test a brand new exhibit yet to be released to the general public.
  • Acadian Center Camps Offer Adventure in Culture, Nature, and History ~ Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve will offer day camps at many of its sites in summer 2017 (sorry, no camp at the park’s French Quarter Visitor Center this year). Through games, crafts, mini-workshops with local artisans, hikes, and hands-on activities, campers will explore the cultural diversity that influences life in south Louisiana as well as local land and ecology.
  • Alison Wonderland Musical Theatre Summer Camp ~ Classes with allisonwonderland theatre co. include exercises that build self-confidence, stage presence, theatre knowledge, vocal agility, self control, self awareness, team work, improvisational skills, and so much more! Children receive encouragement to perform to their best ability. They are taught creativity, responsibility, time management, and discipline through positive reinforcement & example.
  • AOC Animation Camp ~ AOC Community Media will hold a five-day animation camp designed to introduce techniques used by today’s animation industry artists on July 10-14 from 9 a.m. to noon. Students ages 12-17 can register for this camp for $125 per student. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
  • Ascension Episcopal School – Summer At Ascension is offering several camps throughout the summer for students of various ages & interests!
  • Build to Drive Summer Camps ~ Your child can spend four days at Big Boy Toys and Hobbies building their very own ECX Amp hobby quality RC truck!
  • Camp Calvary ~ Summer registration is also available. Registration is $99. Camp fee is $120 for the week with lunch provided by camp, $99 for the week with lunch provided by parents.
  • Camp In The City ~ Camp is Coming! Register today for Pinecove Camp in the City here at TBC. Camp will be the week of May 29 – June 2 for kids completing Kindergarten through 5th grade.
  • Camp Invention ~ We inspire girls and boys to think BIG and imagine how they can change the world for the better one day! This one-of-a-kind weeklong experience connects science, technology, engineering and math through fun hands-on activities. The program allows students to learn about creative problem solving (and so much more!) in teams grouped by age.
  • Camp Oakbourne ~ Each day at camp will be full of structured and fun activities for your child. We love variety and therefore, the camper who attends for just one week will have just as fabulous a time as the camper who comes to camp all summer!

  • Christian Youth Theater Camp ~ Join CYT summer camp and fill your day with theater workshops using a Broadway-style theme. Workshops include musical theater, voice, dance and drama. Other activities include high energy games and rehearsals for the Friday Showcase for family and friends.

  • Delcambre High School ~ Delcambre High School is hosting their annual cheer clinic June 21-June 23. The registration fee is $60 and includes three days of camp (8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.), a clinic t-shirt, a group picture, and an individual picture with Pez the panther.   • Diver’s Destination ~ Diver’s Destination is offering several great summer camps along with swimming classes for adult and children. Their summer camps include Snorkel camp and Scuba camp. the phone number is 337-981-DIVE(3483).
  • Dreams Foundation Camp ~ This camp is for individuals with special needs.
  • Episcopal School of Acadiana ~ ESA Summer combines the spirit of ESA’s academic and athletic programs with the fun and energy of summertime. Students are invited to extend their learning through hands-on activities that take advantage of the resources on ESA’s campuses and in the Acadiana community.
  • Just 4 Kicks Soccer Camp ~ Each day will be divided into three or four sessions, depending on the heat. The first two or three sessions are for instructional purposes. It is at this time that we will demonstrate and teach the correct way to pass, trap, dribble and shoot. The last session of each day is for scrimmaging, which will provide your child with the opportunity to use what he or she learned in actual game situations.

  • LSU continuing education ~ For an enjoyable activity with lifelong benefits, we recommend one of our eight different reading skills programs designed and taught by instructors from the Institute of Reading Development. Programs have been offered as a community service by LSU Continuing Education, a non-profit organization, since 2003.
  • Mix It Up Summer Cooking Camp ~ Campers will prepare a light breakfast, lunch, and a snack each day. We have many activities during the day to keep the kids active and learning. Campers experiences include learning about kitchen safety, cooking, and nutrition, creating food art, exercise, games, and crafts, while fostering creativity in the kitchen with hands-on cooking activities.

  • On Voyage Dand Le Temps À Vermillionville:  It takes a village ~ Vermilionville will be hosting our fourth annual summer camp series on four separate weeks during the summer months.   • Sacred Heart Equestrian Center Summer Camp ~ The day camp is open to all horse crazy boys and girls over the age of six!  Spend the day riding, swimming, learning about horses, and having fun!
  • South Louisiana Gymnastics Camp ~ SoLa Gym is offering 3 full weeks of Summer Camp and 2 three day camps. The three day camps will be the first three days after school lets out and the last three days before school starts up again.
  • St. Thomas More summer camp schedule is designed to meet the summer needs of most families with sessions begining June 2 and running through August 1.  No camps are offered the first week of July. Several camps have multiple sessions, with a few offering half day or full day options.
  • Sugar and Spice Vacation Station ~ Social Interaction is at the forefront of our summer camp. The children attend exciting Field Trips Daily with swimming at least once per week, participate in a Talent Show and Competition.

  • The Music Garden ~ Summer session begins Monday, June 19th!  One 45 minute class per week, 5 week session. There will be no classes July 10-14th.  Classes will be offered Monday and Friday mornings for the summer session.
  • UL Lafayette Continuing Education ~ From art & culture, to professional development & technical training – we have over 200 courses to choose from.
  • YMCA of Acadiana; Fun in the sun at the YMCA!  ~ Summer Camp at the YMCA of Acadiana begins at 7:00 am and lasts until 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. We engage our campers through outside and inside play that is active in both mind and body.  We service ages 5-12 years old, and divide our campers according to age and gender. Our Camp Counselors are made up of college students and Lafayette Parish teachers, and are trained to be role-models to all those who attend camp.
  • Zoo of Acadiana Jungle Camp ~ A week in Jungle Camp exposes the campers to all of the wonderful things Zoosiana has to offer, including: daily zoo tours, arts, crafts, and activities; Playground time, behind the scenes tour, Special “Friday only” activities, educational animal programs (to include up-close enjoyment!), and more!
  • Sacred Heart Equestrian Center Summer Camp should be added to your list! We are located in Grand Coteau. We offer a horse camp the month of June each week (Monday-Thursday 9:00-3:00). It’s fairly cheap and a great way to get hands on horse experience. We offer horse riding, horsey crafts, swimming, and more!   • Southern Stone Indoor Climbing will have summer camp sessions in June and July! Camp days are MWF from 9-12. Southern Stone’s Rock N’ Summer Camp is designed to teach kids all about rock climbing. In this week long summer camp, you will learn all the basics including climbing commands, body positioning, grip types and more. We focus on a healthy mindset and encourage all participants to try their hardest.
